Nelson Mandela taught us that loads of important things that changed and influenced the world. For Example:
Courage
When Nelson Mandela was young he saw many people suffering from inequality, prejudice, bias and discrimination but Mandela had the courage to stand for a change risking his life and the lives of his loved ones. South African citizens were only allowed to live in certain areas of their own birth land and they were seen wearing an identification card to confirm their existence. Later on they were transferred to second class status. Many people knew that this was wrong but weren't strong to stand up to the leaders who set these policies but Mandela was the only person who stood up. He organized small revolutionaries to fight for a change. This proves their courage.
Perseverance
While Nelson Mandela was in prison he wrote letters that observed his life and struggles. Outsiders were still angry about the imprisonment of Mandela but still continued to fight. Other people from other nations put pressure on the Government to not only release Mandela but to get rid of the Governments racial policies. This showed that where ever Nelson Mandela is he would not give up.
Forgiveness
Forgiving someone takes a lot of strength. Even-though Nelson Mandela was put in prison for standing up for himself and others e did not try to say anything back to the people who put him in a tiny cell for demanding a change. Mandela also decided to be non-violent to the people who had been against him. As a leader Nelson Mandela forgave those people who imprisoned him and segregated his people.
